WHAT WE SAID THE VOICES, "from when the film and experimentation psicofónica merge"
by Juan Manuel Thomas
On 26 November was the first viewing of "The voices told us," the documentary film about EVP filmed on stage in the Region of Murcia.
Fifty years after the discovery of Jurgenson still immersed, as in the case mix UFO over a period of uncertainty. We know where we came from, but know what it is. Whence comes the phenomenon and what he intends. It is also true that fifty years is nothing for a field of study. That scientific research takes time to develop protocols and, above all, money. This thing, the funding, given the idiosyncrasies of most researchers who fund their own laboratories and research, rather scarce compared to other disciplines.
And that vocation "do it yourself" that permeates the film creation Groizard Ricardo. Hand-held camera or tripod, as appropriate, making sound engineer, illuminator, producer or screenwriter and moved by the researcher's buenhacer Murcia Antonio Perez, we show how an investigation is psicofónica live from within. And though each from a different world. Groizard is that of television and film, Antonio Perez on the other hand, battle-hardened field research, maintain the balance and the movie, 'The voices told us' or is too commercial or too erudite for researchers .
Through four stages located in the Region of Murcia, and Perez Groizard venture into the bowels of four scary stories. And is that something will have water when the blessed. If Alberto Cerezuela has endeavored to show the world the unique characteristics of their strange Almeria (Ed. Red Circle, 2011), Murcia, adjacent and in many respects, the sister of the Andalusian province, not far behind in terms of quantity and quality cases. Thus we see within production what happens at the camp razed Bolnuevo (Mazarron), Palace of Olite (The Pool), the abandoned Hostel Consul (The Union) and a haunted house in the city of Cartagena.
Although the film is not about being scared is passed fear is not a docu-fiction, including "Project Blair Witch" (1999), this is serious. The voices overlap those of the players as they prepare their teams. They answer the questions that they throw them. Even the voices conversing with each other. Creepy. The questions before or after the head emerges from the viewer. How are contacted?. The same has been made dozens and dozens of researchers and fans: what is this, where does it come?, What does? And is that a cold shock travels back psychophony clearer when all the film announces "Today I want three souls." Other invited Ricardo to investigate the alleged offer amounts people buried under the Bolnuevo camping disaster or the echo of the voices of children occur in the old orphanage Olite.
One of the hot spots of the projection Celeste is the presence of a medium who claims to have the gift of seeing the dead. "They come in my house for help," says Celeste own. And, Ricardo Groizard, promoted by the idea of giving meaning to the recording, he wanted to contact a person with powers that could offer an explanation. It was Antonio Perez, who led him to it, and this, without knowing the content of the movie or hearing anything of the recorded material, he says with a penetrating gaze that "at the camp more than two people dead," and that the very Alfonso Martinez Saura has performed in his house for help because he keeps locked in his hostel after his tragic death. Among other things, lists how is your day to day with souls, how or how to help see them. Celeste is expressed with such simplicity and forcefulness that one inevitably gets a nervous laugh.
SCENARIO A SCENARIO
In 1989 a tidal wave four feet high and eighty-meter wingspan swept the camp of the Rambla de Bolnuevo. Official sources point to two people killed at site Mazarron is common knowledge that the deceased might be more. The majority of foreign tourists who are unaware of their identity. "What they told us the voices" deck the hypothesis that the number of people who perished in that unfortunate event is bigger and that these souls ask for help .
Olite Palace is a former orphanage where children were taken from the war who had lost his entire family during the Spanish Civil War. Abandoned and dilapidated during filming children's voices are heard with crystal clear .
Alfonso Martinez Saura was a modest pastor of the Union that ended up building a hostel on the same land they grazed young. After a hectic life, traveling through the world and after enlisting in the Merchant Navy, he returned to his hometown to set up a catering business. One day he was found dead in his establishment, shortly after a strange event took place featuring a ghost pounding on the door, which occurred in the presence of person days would find him dead.
A haunted house "book" is what we see in the film obtained in Cartagena. Flashing lights and voices alone distinctly sinister. It is here where you get the clearest voices, plus the testimony of the inhabitants of the house helps to enter the dense atmosphere of the place.
"What they told us the voices" is a pioneer of a genre film, 'Documentary Psicofónico' I would call it, one that fuses documentary and experimental psicofónica real time. Genre that has roots or transcendence if only time and the acceptance of professional and public will say, but undeniably takes the phenomenon one step further than we had known to date. Maybe it was a leap clear and logical given the technical possibilities of the time, but not has less merit, someone had to. It's a bold gamble. It's hard work. It not only dig into those gloomy scenarios, but the arduous task of spending hours editing filtering, re-listening the EVP, editing the film, not for nothing that the project has taken three years to see the light. And yet the whole task is completed. It remains to the expensive promotional work.
Leaving the screening of "The voices told us" a bittersweet inevitability occurs within one. Halfway between bewilderment, hope, fear ... Perez Groizard and dare to innovate to the point that practically makes us spectators of the films of the Lumiere brothers. We left the theater thinking that we have witnessed the unprecedented, impossible, and that, in this era of infoxication has merit. And so does being a pioneer, to stand firm in the determination to carry out a project without sponsors and completely independently, showing that he who overcomes adversity to conquer the afterlife.
Note Ricardo Groizard:
Thank you very much for the excellent review, untrammeled, free of commitments, this is the medicine that any dreams of receiving independent production. And thank you very much to our fans and loyal fans for their continued support in this difficult enterprise that will pay off despite all the difficulties we are facing to get the project to light.
Again, thank you very much everyone.
Producer and Director of "What they told us the voices."
